Well, here goes
I hereby warmly welcome myself to
my new blog, since nobody else is around to do the honors, and since this blog
will probably never actually get read by anyone. This will primarily be a place where I can scribble down my
thoughts, opinions, dreams, and general brain activity, and pretend that the
whole world is listening intently.
So without wasting too much time,
let me tell you who you’re reading and how I got here. I am a white male, 30, married for five
years and proud father of a beautiful 13 month old child. I am the owner of a small video
production company in Phoenix, Arizona and I am a lover of life in general.
I graduated from Lee University in
TN. with an undergraduate degree in Communications specializing in Television
production. I met my wife in
college in a small a cappella vocal group and followed her back home to Arizona
where her family now resides.
I am the dreaded ‘Christian
Conservative’, responsible for such heinous crimes as electing president Bush,
believing in this War on Terror, supporting our involvement in Iraq, and
believing in a higher being – at least that’s how you should view me if you
believe the media these days.
In reality I’m a nice guy with a
pretty strong moral compass and a firm belief in family values. My faith is everything to me and dictates
much of what I think; but not entirely.
Among the daily influences in my life are the
following: Dennis Prager, who is
one of my ‘can’t miss’ appointments every day. I’m so crazy about Dennis and
what he has to say that I also download his show onto my Ipod in case I happen
to miss a word or two live on the radio.
Dennis gets me on the right page in the morning…how am I treating
others? How are my morals going to affect my actions today? Am I filling my moral
obligation to others to be happy?
If you’ve not listened to Dennis before, try him.
I listen to Hugh Hewitt every day
for my update in politics and to get my general reminder that I’ll never be
smart enough or quick enough to mix with that crowd. I absolutely love the show and Hugh’s wit. To me his show is the perfect mix of
politics and entertainment.
If I have time, I try to visit
James Lilek’s site. Although James
is a regular guest on the Hugh Hewitt show, nothing gets me laughing like
reading James’s blog. (see link on this page.)
I love politics, music, and
movies. Reading is one of my
biggest passions in life, and my family of course tops the list. As this blog
goes on, I’ll cover all of the above, and add in a few poorly thought out ideas
on current events. Check out the
links listed on my blog to see some of the sites I thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to get to
know me. I hope to see you back here often and invite you to comment on
anything you read.
